A Gifts Project in a Shoe Box

This week, my daily automatic Google search for "The Gifts Project" brought to me two non-profit results in holidays spirit, and i wanted to share those gifting ideas with our readers.

The first is Shoebox gifts project for Haiti:

Organizers of the annual charity campaign Operation Christmas Child are calling on Mayo people to help them realize a goal of sending 15,000 gift-filled shoeboxes to the children in Haiti affected by last January's earthquake. Operation Christmas Child is accepting shoeboxes up until November 18. After October 2nd, people packing shoeboxes can visit the Samaritan's Purse website,, to find their nearest drop-off point. The website also gives details of recommended items to put in a shoebox.

Second, the SimpleGifts project:

The Simple Gifts Project helps raise money for non-profit organizations by selling gifts of food, shelter, and health to be donated to children in need. They make it easy to give money by making each dollar people donate 100% tax-deductible. Pretty simple.

Happy upcoming holidays to us all.
